Bettinardi CB24 Irons – In-Depth Test Review

Bettinardi CB24 Forged Irons full set cavity back golf clubs review

Today, I test-hit this golf club.

The club tested was the Bettinardi CB24 Iron, 7-iron.

The shaft is the KBS TOUR LITE 100.

Specs: Loft 33°, club length 37 inches, shaft weight 100 g, swing balance D1, and total club weight 417.5 g.

Bettinardi CB24 forged irons golf club set review

A simple yet beautifully made cavity-back iron.

That refined elegance is what you’d expect from Bettinardi.

While many irons with similar shapes can feel rough or mass-produced, Bettinardi is the opposite—delicate, precise, and highly refined.
This impression may also come from my long-time trust in Bettinardi putters.

The back face is stunning—I found myself admiring it.

Performance aside, this level of detail and finish reflects Bettinardi’s craftsmanship. The signature honeycomb-inspired design and the bold “B” logo on the toe add class.

For me, part of the joy of testing a new club is first enjoying its looks, and the CB24 delivered.

Bettinardi CB24 Iron set chrome diamond blast finish review

This is a traditional cavity-back iron.

Stylish without being intimidating, it projects a welcoming look. Compared to the MB24 muscle-back irons I tested earlier, the CB24 feels more forgiving while still offering premium quality.

Bettinardi CB24 cavity back irons forged carbon steel

The cavity depth is fairly substantial.

At first glance, it looked close to a half-cavity, but it’s more accurate to call it a standard cavity.

There are cavity-backs designed purely for MOI and forgiveness at the expense of feel, and others that retain thickness behind the sweet spot for better feedback. The CB24 is clearly the latter.

Balancing forgiveness and feel is where Bettinardi shows its skill.

Bettinardi CB24 Iron top line

The topline looks slightly thicker, but still well within standard range.

I’m particular about topline and outline. If edges are too rounded, the image at address becomes unclear. The CB24’s shape inspires confidence rather than uncertainty.

Bettinardi CB24 golf irons sole width

For a cavity-back, the sole is quite narrow compared to most modern irons.

I prefer this—it promotes a cleaner down-blow strike. Wide soles can be tricky at turf interaction, while this narrow sole feels natural.

For golfers with a descending strike, the slim sole poses no problem. Combined with its shallower CG, it offers great control.

Bettinardi CB24 irons sole shape

The sole is gently rounded, with moderate radius (R).

Bettinardi CB24 forged golf irons leading edge

The leading edge shows little visible grinding relief.

Bettinardi CB24 irons trailing edge

The trailing edge, however, is heavily relieved.

A design feature increasingly common in modern irons.

Bettinardi CB24 iron club head chrome finish

The hosel looks slightly short—standard for today. Offset is weak.

BETTINARDI FORGED CB24

The hosel is stamped “BETTINARDI FORGED CB24.”

Bettinardi CB24 golf irons face milling

The face shows no milling pattern.

Bettinardi original grip

The Bettinardi-branded grip is stylish and premium.

It’s the same as on the MB24 irons and HLX 6.0 wedges.
The grip itself is the proven Tour Velvet 360, but the Bettinardi branding adds motivation.

Bettinardi CB24 irons 1025 carbon steel co-forged

Practice swings showed the shaft working in sync, making timing easy.

The KBS TOUR LITE 100, though light, feels stable and delivers power efficiently to the head.

Bettinardi CB24 forged irons precision milling

At address, setup is excellent—classic tour-inspired profile.

Refined without being intimidating, with balanced proportions against the ball. The club feels naturally connected rather than repelling.

On-Course Testing Impressions

Bettinardi CB24 irons tour inspired compact profile

Impact feel is superb—soft, yet dense and buttery.

It feels as though the ball briefly stays on the face before launching. This feedback comes from the thickness behind the sweet spot.

Golfers who prefer a crisp, springy feel may differ, but for me, this connected sensation was highly satisfying.

Bettinardi CB24 cavity back forged irons review

Launch height is average.

Despite its tour profile, it feels approachable. To maximize performance, a swing speed above 90 mph (HS40+) is recommended.

Bettinardi CB24 irons premium forged golf clubs

Stability is strong, forgiveness is present but not excessive.

Weight bias toward the toe improves stability on mishits, reducing weak pushes. The CB24 is easier to play than its appearance suggests.

Bettinardi CB24 irons cavity back technology review

A beautiful, neutral-looking iron that offers both forgiveness and control.

More automatic than workable, but with enough versatility for intentional shot-shaping.

Bettinardi CB24 irons tour cavity back forged design

Distance performance is average.

This is not a distance-boosting iron, but one that prioritizes precision. The flight is strong and stable, less affected by wind—ideal for consistent scoring.

Golf club test evaluation

Simple in appearance, but packed with advanced engineering.

Golf club review

When a club is beautiful and well-made, it excites you before hitting. The CB24 had that effect.

Forged iron

For golfers who prefer cavity backs over muscle-backs, but still demand beauty, the CB24 is ideal.

Cavity back iron

Bettinardi is known for tour-level craftsmanship.

The CB24 continues that heritage—stylish, forgiving, and motivating to practice with.

Bettinardi irons

Striking each ball in dialogue with the club—that’s the essence of practice and improvement.

The CB24 conveys feel exceptionally well, becoming a trusted partner for players who value precision over raw distance.

Golf club irons

While Bettinardi is most famous for their putters, their irons and wedges also deserve close attention.

BETTINARDI CB24 Irons: Complete Review & Performance Analysis

Introduction: Bettinardi’s Entry into the Iron Market

The BETTINARDI CB24 Irons represent the renowned putter manufacturer’s ambitious entry into the competitive iron market. Characterized by an optimal progressive cavity and perimeter weighting for maximum MOI, the CB24 irons strike a perfect balance of distance and forgiveness. These forged cavity back irons leverage Bettinardi’s expertise in precision milling to deliver what the company describes as versatile player’s distance irons suited for advanced and improvement players.

Technical Specifications and Construction

Core Design Features

The CB24 irons showcase Bettinardi’s signature craftsmanship through their One Piece Forging Technology which delivers a solid body iron with exceptional feel. This construction method sets them apart from traditional multi-piece designs commonly found in the market.

Material Construction:

  • Material: 1025 Carbon Steel/Tungsten/CMC
  • Finish: Diamond Blast
  • The USGA-conforming face grooves and the hex pattern on the back of the irons are milled

Loft and Lie Specifications

The CB24 irons feature traditional loft configurations that avoid the aggressive strengthening seen in many modern distance irons:

Loft Specifications:

  • 4 Iron – 23°, 5 Iron – 26°, 6 Iron – 29°, 7 Iron – 33°, 8 Iron – 37°, 9 Iron – 41°, PW – 45°

Lie Angles:

  • 4 Iron – 61°, 5 Iron – 61.5°, 6 Iron – 62°, 7 Iron – 62.5°, 8 Iron – 63°, 9 Iron – 63.5°, PW – 64°

You won’t find jacked lofts in these irons, as the Bettinardi pitching wedge loft is 45 degrees whereas the TaylorMade iron set pitching wedges are 47. This conservative approach to loft design appeals to traditionalists who prefer authentic distance gaps between clubs.

Performance Analysis and Ball Flight Characteristics

Distance and Trajectory

Professional testing reveals that the CB24s produce ample distance for a player’s iron, and the spin rates remained consistent at around 5,400 rpm, which is ideal for a six iron. This spin rate consistency is crucial for predictable ball flight and green-holding capability.

The ball flight produced by these irons is fairly neutral, and we found them to be very workable, which is ideal for a better player’s iron. The neutral ball flight characteristic allows skilled golfers to shape shots according to course demands without fighting inherent draw or fade bias.

Workability and Shot Shaping

Testing feedback indicates impressive workability characteristics. They’re really easy to really easy to draw. I mean I, I’ve just made a stock swing that usually just cuts. It’s like it’s kind of hard to cut. This suggests the irons provide excellent feedback for shot shaping while remaining stable for standard swings.

Progressive Design Elements

We talked about that CG placement and progressive CG being a little bit lower in those long irons. Also a little higher in the short irons, really focusing on playability and adaptability for controlling. This progressive center of gravity placement optimizes launch conditions throughout the set.
