Zodia CG Collection I Wedge Test Review

Zodia CG collection I Wedge
I recently had the opportunity to test this golf club.

The test club I used was the Zodia CG Collection I Wedge.

N.S.PRO MODUS3 WEDGE125
The shaft is the **N.S.PRO MODUS3 WEDGE125**.
The loft is 58°, the club length is 35 inches, the shaft flex is S, the kick point is mid, the balance is D1.5, and the total weight is 472g.

Front View
This is a simple and beautiful wedge from **Zodia**.
It seems to be a sister model of the Zodia CG Collection II Wedge, which I tested previously.

Back Face Design
Like its sister model, I am not particularly fond of the back face design. I feel there could have been a better approach, and while this does not affect the basic performance, it does lessen my desire to buy it. Clubs should first be visually appealing, and this design does not meet that expectation.

Side View
The design is orthodox and similar to the sister model.

Top Line

Top Line
The top line is the same, with no noticeable differences.

Sole Width
The sole width is standard and the same as the sister model.

Sole Shape
However, there is a difference in the sole shape.

Leading Edge
The **Collection II** has a significantly shaved leading edge, but this **Collection I** is different.

Trailing Edge
Instead, the trailing edge is heavily shaved.
This modification to the leading edge is very appealing, especially since I often open the face. The design of the wedge is very attractive to me.

Trailing Edge
The sole is very smooth, and I could easily imagine the speed at which it would glide through the turf.

Neck Length
The neck is of a suitable length.

Face
The wedge has the classic **Zodia** look, and the face is still great.

Milling
The texture of the face is similar to that of previous models.

Original Grip
The grip with the **Zodia** logo looks cool. It’s the Tour Velvet grip, which I really like, and it’s perfect for irons and wedges.

Setup
When setting up with the ball, it feels very comfortable, and I was impressed with the confidence it gave me.
The comfort I felt in the setup was more about the “ease of imagining” rather than the head size, and I was extremely satisfied in that regard.

Ease of Opening
I found it very easy to open the face, and I really enjoyed that feature.
I believe the sole’s modification is a major factor in this, and it made the club feel even more versatile.

Test Hit
Face
The **feel** is soft and wonderful.

Spin Performance

The **spin** performance is also high, and the ball stops really well.
Although I didn’t measure it, I think this model has slightly more spin compared to the Collection II.

Toe Side
The ball is easy to pick up and is very forgiving.
It had the perfect height for a 58° wedge, and I was able to carry the ball gently with a soft trajectory.

Back Face
It was easy to release the line, and I found it simple.
It may not have the same openness as a cavity, but for wedges with lower lofts, this design is more than sufficient.

Distance Control
The **distance control** is incredibly easy to manage.
Its great looks and excellent ball interaction, coupled with its moderate weight, provide stability.

By simply letting gravity pull the head down, I was able to pinpoint where the ball would land with great precision.

Control
**Control** is top-notch, and I had fun experimenting with various shots.
While the Collection II is also excellent, I personally prefer this model.

Heel Side
I reaffirmed that **Zodia’s** wedges are fantastic.
I’ve been drawn to Zodia wedges since my first test, and I really liked this model too.

At first, I thought it would just be a test hit, but I ended up enjoying it so much that time flew by. For a wedge enthusiast like me, this was blissful.

Zodia CG Collection I Wedge
However, as I mentioned previously, I prefer the **SV-W101 Wedge** I tested before.

Zodia CG Collection I Wedge
If only the back face design were improved, it would be perfect.
Unfortunately, it looks a bit cheap, which is disappointing.

Zodia CG collection I Wedge
That said, everything else about this wedge is highly appealing.
I would love to see versions in no plating, black dye, or copper in the future.

Zodia CG collection I Wedge
Great face, great feel, great spin, great control.
While those who prefer a goose-neck design may not connect with it, I absolutely love the face of this wedge.

Zodia CG Collection I Wedge
I’m excited to see what **Zodia** will come up with next.

The slightly smaller, straight leading edge makes it easier to aim and offers excellent directionality and comfort when addressing the ball.

  3. Customizable Finishes
The CG Collection I wedge offers customization options for milling and plating, allowing golfers to tailor the finish to their personal preferences.

  4. Soft Feel with S20C Soft Iron Forging
As a hallmark of Zodia, the soft feel provided by S20C soft iron forging is unmatched by other wedges, providing a soft and smooth impact.
